At Gescom 2022 Funcom announced their latest production which is an Open World Survival game based in the Dune universe. As can be seen in the trailer which is on youtube the game will be set in Arrakis, home of the Fremen and players will have to try to survive through collaboration in this arid world. Despite this, due to the company's track record with previous titles such as Conan Exiles, some are sceptical about whether Funcom will be able to maintain the essence of the novels and not get lost in mechanics that could potentially detract from the experience that the world created by Frank Herbert in 1965 could potentially deliver.
