Do you think living free, stealing your food is survival? Believe me cub, you don't know what means to survive because you haven't had to walk over a friend to keep from dying. You haven't had to take the remains of your family to dig your way out of this nightmare, only to realise that it will never happen because we are in the jaws of the abyss. We who dwell in this wasteland outside the safety of the city have seen the face of death and everyday we wake up we thank Nol'shoy Zber for allowing such a miracle. The moment you understand that you have never ceased to be the prey, for "hunter" is only a title, you will understand that you are nothing, and only then will you be able to say that you understood the meaning of the word survival. For now I will take the parts I need from you and leave your fate in the clutches of our god because unlike others, I take only what I need and not what I can...I’m not a jackal, I am a SURVIVOR!!!! -Zhab, inhabitant of the Slivno
The world of the Kyverz is cyberpunk and they can be defined as anthropomorphic animals but with their feral traits very much in place. This is the reason why they are so varied in their looks and physical characteristics, which by the way gives them great advantages in the areas of adaptation. All this is thanks to their deity and father Nol'shoy Zber or The Great Beast.
When two Kyverz breed, their offspring will take on most of the characteristics of one parent and some minor characteristics of the other one, with the latter being replaced almost entirely in the following generations, so it is rare to see Kyverz with multiple combined traits that make them look like mutants or aberrations. The lifespan of a Kyverz is as varied as his traits as this will be defined by factors such as their social class, the number and type of implants they have and the treatments they can access to treat his ailments and limitations.
Their home planet is Logov which was once a natural paradise, prolific and abundant. A wonderful green covered everything with a great variety of forests, lakes and a rich ecosystem. Their technological development was one of the most advanced in their universe after the discovery of the antimatter or zero point engines, a true energetic utopia although due to an unexpected invasion by otherworldly forces, Logov became a wasteland of madness inhabited by living nightmares and memories of the past, where those few who remained alive had to learn to adapt and survive in a world that blamed and cursed them. They abandoned their traditions and teachings, as well as the way of the noble warrior to embrace the path of the scavenger in order to move on to a tomorrow with what they could recover or find among the remains of their ancestors. Their beautiful cities which welcomed all who came seeking refuge became walled fortresses with gigantic skyscrapers in the poorer sections to compensate for their overpopulation problems.
Due to changes in Logov's ecosystem and the fortification of the cities, the Kyver economy prioritised self-sufficiency, generating trade through caravans to compensate for goods they could not produce. Kyverz technology also suffered a centuries-long setback at the end of the war as much of it was buried or out of reach, but not all the Kyverz were sheltered behind the gigantic fortification walls. Some were expelled from the fortifications, while others refused to live in fear of the outside world and continued on the path of piracy, raiding trade caravans or searching for pre-war technology in abandoned ruins or at a site uncovered by an earthquake or landslide.
After the first war and how devastated the wastelands and territories of the Kyverz were, they invested all their efforts in rebuilding their cities and surviving so wars and battles between them are rare but not non-existent as there are fortresses that do not want to negotiate but prefer to take what they need through looting. There is also the fact that the metal to build their technology must be mined so these mines are constantly disputed, especially those from which plundorium can be extracted which is the most valuable and strongest metal in Logov as it is the one used to build their walls and buildings. Unfortunately for the current Logov survivors, the technology needed to change the properties of plundorium to make it more malleable and workable was lost after the war with the invaders, although tools, weapons and the like can be found in ruins and lost labyrinths.
