Ikanata are between 1.6 and 1.8 metres tall and can live up to 120 years.

Their appearance is similar to that of a human, although their skin has tones of the entire rainbow spectrum and more. In the case of mages, when they awaken their latent power, they change the colour of their eyes as these are covered by a layer of magical energy of the colour of the type of magic they use. The colour of their hair can be black, blonde, reddish, white or any of the tones in between. Despite these there is a fashion among the non-magician population to dye their hair exotic colours, alluding to the change in eye colour of the magicians.

Clothing among the non-magical population is quite diverse, although synthetic materials are very popular. Among wizards, on the other hand, clothing is almost uniform. Comfortable kimonos designed for both on and off the battlefield. The colours are the colours of the university to which they belong, i.e. blue in the case of Zozhi, red in the case of Wari and yellow for Sekijo. In case of war they usually replace their kimono with Batotsu which is a techno-magical combat armour. These, unlike the kimonos, vary in design from university to university. Among the colours, white, grey and black predominate, although in all of them the circuit that runs through them with the hue of their magic dye is noticeable. The design of the Wari Batotsu is usually more massive and heavy as it seeks to enhance the strength and endurance of the mage, without losing the technomagical aesthetic that characterises the Ikanata. Over this armour they usually wear a long red jacket that hangs down to their ankles. In the case of Zozhi, their armour is of an intermediate type, striking a balance between mobility and strength. From the waist comes an open front skirt which is blue in colour. In the case of Sekijo, his armour gives the impression of being lighter as it prioritises mobility and speed but is covered almost entirely by a yellow hooded tunic. Another detail that all these armours have in common is the fact that they all have closed helmets and their designs, like the Batotsu, are unique to each mage.
